The Mid-Atlantic Society of Radiation
Oncologists
Dear
Colleague,
MASRO (Mid-Atlantic Society of
Radiation Oncologists) is the regional radiation oncology
society for the Mid-Atlantic States, which includes Delaware,
Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. MASRO provides ACR's
CARROS representative for this region. We are comprised of both
private and academic physicians. We meet several times per year
to discuss issues relating to radiation oncology, especially
those which may be specific to our region. These meetings are
held in conjunction with a scientific program, usually for CME credit.
This year's topic is intracranial and extracranial stereotactic
radiosurgery and radiotherapy. We have distinguished guest
speakers, and will have updates on CPT coding and
reimbursement. Please see the enclosed Save The Date pamphlet.
As a society, we would like to
provide an opportunity to meet other radiation oncologists in
the region, provide updates on current issues and technologies,
and give residents in training a chance to present their
research and prepare for their presentation at the ASTRO
meeting. This would also give residents a chance to meet
established radiation oncologists who may have job openings in
their practice. We are in the process of reconstructing the
MASRO web site, and when complete, will provide the list of
upcoming meetings, officers, current members, and helpful links
for questions relating to practice management and
reimbursement.
Thank you for taking time from
your busy schedules. We hope that you will consider becoming a
member of our society.
Sincerely,
Michael F. Dzeda, MD
President
